History
Espoo United was founded in 2016. It was founded by Jussi Salonoja as a successor to bankrupt Liiga team Blues. The team operated in Mestis for two seasons between 2016 and 2018, after, like its predecessor, the team was declared bankrupt. The team aspired to make Liiga in the near future. The team also operated a women's hockey team as well as basketball teams for men and women. The women's teams ceased their operations under the Espoo United name after one season. At its best, the team achieved bronze in its inaugural season in Mestis.
