Elite Prospects Notes and Trivia
The München Barons was founded in 1999 when Philip Anschutz bought a DEL license from the financially struggling EV Landshut. The Barons succeeded on the ice but struggled off the ice.
In 2002 Anschutz relocated the team with the help of Harry Harkimo and rename it the Hamburg Freezers. The team ceased operations in 2016.
