EP Rinkside 2023 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 2-ranked Anaheim Ducks

Prospect Pool Rankings

The Anaheim Ducks are a tough watch. They’re bad, disorganized, often boring, and – did I mention – bad.

That won’t be the case for much longer. The Ducks have built arguably the sport’s deepest prospect pool. No one can match their blueline depth, filled with skill and intelligence.

No organization has as many fun prospects, either. These future Ducks are here to break ankles, set up chances, snipe, and run over anyone who gets in their way.

The Ducks have built this through one of the league’s most profuse, yet poor draft philosophies: Size. But more than every other team, they excel at identifying skilled players within archetypes and know when to ignore size altogether. They find players with exciting flashes of skill who quickly turn them into gamely features. They pick thinner players who become far more effective after a summer or two of packing on the pounds.

This article goes 26 players deep, but that’s not even all of the intriguing NHL talent in the organization.

It’s just that good.
